Hi, I’m Emily Deanne — a passionate journalist, storyteller, and communications professional dedicated to bringing meaningful stories to life.Currently I serve as a Multimedia Journalist and Reporter in Charleston, SC, where I cover breaking news, crime, politics, lifestyle, and community stories. Whether I’m reporting live during severe weather, developing enterprise stories, or producing digital content for multiple platforms, I am driven by accuracy, clarity, and connection. I am detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in meeting daily deadlines — with a positive, coachable spirit and a hunger for truth.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend High Point University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Performing Arts, as well as a Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership. While working toward my B.A., I had the incredible opportunity to learn from world-renowned journalists at Fox8 in High Point, WCVB in Boston, and my home state’s news station, WMUR. Those experiences shaped my foundation in strong storytelling, ethical reporting, and newsroom excellence.

Outside of the newsroom, I love exploring Charleston — from diving into its rich history to spending time at the beach and finding any excuse to go dancing. I've enjoyed walking the runway for a cause, participating in the We Heart Charleston fashion show benefit for the American Heart Association, hosting broadway show discussion panels at North Charleston Performing Arts Center and performing with Charleston Dance Project. When I'm not in the Holy City, I enjoy traveling the world and embracing new cultures.  Wherever I am giving back to the community and volunteering remains deeply important to me. You can find me reading to classrooms, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Room at the Inn, and teaching Vacation Bible School. Originally from Hampton, New Hampshire, I remain an active community member through the Miss Hampton Beach Pageant Foundation, local Girl Scout troops, Hampton United Methodist Church, and continuing to promote New Hampshire State Parks.

As I continue my career in journalism, my mission is simple: present the facts in a way that empowers viewers to think critically and form their own opinions. Armed with multi-platform technical skills and an insatiable curiosity, I strive to inform, challenge, and strengthen the communities I serve. Storytelling is more than a career for me — it’s a calling. Let's make an impact together, I look forward to connecting with you!
